Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

We are excited to offer a transformative therapeutic option: Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Through a specialized partnership with Journey Clinical, Susan Regan, MFT, integrates ketamine therapy into her practice to support deep healing, personal breakthroughs, and relationship transformations.

Beyond its use for conditions such as depression and anxiety, KAP can be particularly helpful for individuals navigating major life transitions—such as detaching from long-term relationships, rebuilding self-confidence, or gaining clarity in new relational dynamics. By temporarily altering neural pathways, ketamine allows clients to break through rigid thought patterns and engage in profound emotional work, unlocking new possibilities for growth and self-awareness.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) - Susan Regan, MFT, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Chronic Pain

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?

KAP is a powerful therapeutic method that combines low-dose ketamine with psychotherapy to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. It has shown profound benefits for individuals dealing with conditions such as:

• Depression
• Anxiety
• PTSD
• Chronic pain

By temporarily altering neural pathways, ketamine helps clients gain new perspectives and insights, which can accelerate healing and result in significant therapeutic breakthroughs.

Two Approaches to KAP: Psycholytic vs. Psychedelic Therapy

Psycholytic Ketamine Therapy (90-minute sessions)

  • Low-dose, interactive therapy
  • Allows for real-time discussion and processing
  • Softens rigid thought patterns while maintaining engagement
  • Shorter recovery time

Psychedelic Ketamine Therapy (2–3 hour sessions)

  • Higher-dose, dissociative journey
  • Facilitates deep ego dissolution and rewiring of entrenched neural pathways
  • Creates space for expansive insights and personal breakthroughs
  • Includes a required integration session within 48 hours to optimize neuroplasticity

Is Ketamine Safe?

Yes! Ketamine has been safely used in medical settings for decades, particularly in anesthesia and pain management.
In Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, the doses are far lower than those used in surgical anesthesia, and the treatment
is closely monitored by trained professionals to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all clients.

Why Consider KAP?

If you or someone you know has been seeking a different approach to mental health care, KAP may provide new
opportunities for growth and healing. Whether you’re navigating depression, anxiety, or trauma, KAP can unlock
new pathways toward mental wellness, allowing clients to make meaningful progress in their therapeutic journey.

The KAP Journey

Whether you’re navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, or major life transitions, KAP can help break through rigid thought patterns and facilitate meaningful change.

What to Expect in a KAP Session

Our KAP process is designed for safety, comfort, and professional support. Each journey includes structured phases to maximize its therapeutic benefits.

1. Initial Consultation

A comprehensive assessment ensures KAP aligns with your therapeutic goals, medical history, and personal needs. This includes:

  • Medical screening and dosage planning (through Journey Clinical)
  • Clarification of goals for psycholytic (low-dose) or psychedelic (higher-dose) therapy
  • Discussion of individual vs. group format options

2. Preparation Sessions

To ensure you feel fully prepared and supported, pre-session discussions cover:

  • What to expect during your session
  • Setting clear intentions for healing and transformation
  • Addressing any questions to build a sense of ease and readiness

3. Guided Ketamine Journey Session

Your ketamine session is tailored to your personal therapeutic needs and administered under medical supervision. Your therapist will guide you through the experience, ensuring a safe and comfortable process. Depending on your selected approach, your journey will follow one of two paths:

Psycholytic Ketamine Therapy (90-minute, low-dose, interactive)

  • Maintains engagement and verbal processing during the session
  • Encourages emotional openness and cognitive flexibility
  • Shorter recovery time

Psychedelic Ketamine Therapy (2-3 hours, higher-dose, dissociative)

  • Facilitates ego dissolution and deep subconscious work
  • Expands neural pathways for transformative insights
  • Requires a follow-up integration session within 48 hours

Group Journey Sessions

  • 3-hour guided group sessions (maximum of 4 participants)
  • Offered through Journey Clinical

Individual and Couples Ketamine Therapy

  • One-on-one ketamine therapy available on Fridays by appointment
  • Couples’ KAP therapy available for relational healing and breakthroughs

4. Integration Sessions – Making It Last

After your ketamine experience, integration is essential to ensuring that insights gained lead to real-life healing.

  • All participants must complete at least one integration session post-journey
  • Integration helps process emotional shifts, apply insights, and create long-term change
  • Options for group or individual integration
