Ketamine-Assisted Group Therapy Experiential for Clinicians

Experience Ketamine-Assisted Therapy From the Client's Perspective

As clinicians, we understand the value of experiential learning. While training programs provide important knowledge and theory, there is no substitute for personally experiencing the therapeutic modalities we offer our clients.

This experiential training is designed for licensed clinicians who are curious about psychedelic-informed therapy and want a deeper understanding of psycholytic ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, in a group format, before integrating it into their clinical work.

Through a structured six-month process, clinicians experience the full arc of ketamine-assisted therapy by meeting once a month for two hours. You also experience the process of getting connected to resources so that you can have a medical assessment to receive the medication of ketamine. This is a process in itself that you will have to support clients yourself. You will learn from assessment and preparation through the journey itself as well as integration—while gaining practical insight into how this work can support emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and personal growth.

Why Experiential Learning Matters

For many clinicians, understanding ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is best achieved through direct experience rather than theory alone. Participating in the process offers valuable insight into the emotional, somatic, and perceptual dimensions clients may encounter, as well as the pacing, preparation, and integration that support meaningful outcomes.

Experiencing the modality from the participant’s perspective can foster more ethical, attuned, and informed clinical integration. It also provides an embodied understanding of the therapeutic process that cannot be gained through training alone.

Through this experiential, clinicians have the opportunity to:

  • Experience what it feels like to be the client
  • Understand the emotional, somatic, and perceptual aspects of ketamine-assisted therapy
  • Learn how preparation and intention-setting influence outcomes
  • Develop greater confidence when discussing ketamine-assisted therapy with clients
  • Explore how psycholytic ketamine therapy may fit within their clinical practice
  • Build a deeper understanding of safety, pacing, and integration

Understanding Psycholytic Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

Psycholytic ketamine therapy utilizes lower doses of ketamine while maintaining the ability to remain engaged in the therapeutic process. Unlike higher-dose ketamine experiences that emphasize dissociation, psycholytic work supports reflection, emotional exploration, and therapeutic dialogue.

This format is particularly useful for clinicians interested in understanding how ketamine-assisted therapy can be incorporated into ongoing psychotherapy.

Is Ketamine Safe?

Ketamine has a long history of use in medical settings, particularly in anesthesia and pain management. In ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, the medication is used at sub-anesthetic doses and within a carefully structured clinical framework.

As part of this experiential, safety is emphasized at every stage — including clinical screening, preparation, medication coordination, and supported integration — allowing clincians to engage with the process in a contained and professionally guided environment.
